Jambo,
everybody!
Thanks for
sending the prayers our way. We had a great trip to
the Masai
Mara, which is a national game reserve about 100 miles
from Nairobi (maplink).
HOWEVER, the Kenyan government stopped taking care of the
road to get there about 1979 (I'm not kidding) so it's the
most horrendous stretch of road you'll ever bump your
little hinder over. The trip took us 5½ hours one
way, and as I told you earlier, the drivers here are nuts.
Thankfully, our driver, George, proved to be an excellent
driver and negotiator of potholes, goats, sheep, cattle,
donkeys, dogs, bicycles, and countless crazed vehicles
that came across our path. He also drove us all
around the reserve where we saw lots of twigas (giraffes),
elephants, wildebeests, zebras, and a bunch of other cool
animals. We took lots of pictures and video of the
animals, our "tent," and the park in general.
I thought of you all a lot while we were there. You
can see for miles and miles across the park!!! We
also saw the Great
Rift Valley, which was a sight to behold. I'm
looking forward to telling you more about it when we get
home.
Today Mike
starts his second week of teaching. I'm going to hop
between his location and visit some of the other SIM
ministry locations here in Nairobi.
We love and
miss you all and look forward to talking with you!!
God bless
you.
